Holds office U.S. House District 2

Comments

"Last week, the good folks at Montana Free Press released the results of a questionnaire sent to the candidates for Montana’s two congressional districts. In it, they asked the candidates whether they support de-scheduling cannabis at the federal level. Doing so would have big consequences: for criminal justice reform, cannabis research, and cannabis business.

The GOP candidates were split on the issue. While Ryan Zinke gave a thumbs up to de-scheduling, incumbent Matt Rosendale—who will be running in the new eastern district—explicitly opposed the policy.

“Given the rising THC levels of marijuana, I have concerns about the likelihood of abuse and — without seeing more evidence to justify it — would not support removing its Schedule 1 designation,” he replied." Montana Cannabis Review, 9/7/22
