I support legalizing and regulating the responsible use of cannabis by adults in Virginia and was proud to support and co-patron Leader Charniele Herring's bill this past session. I spoke on the floor in support of this legislation because I have seen firsthand the impact that prohibition has had on communities of color in Virginia. Legalizing marijuana was a big step in racial equity in our Commonwealth.

I support automatic expungement and was proud to be the Chief Co-Patron for this bill during the 2021 session.

My office has helped several constituents try to navigate the difficult and confusing process to obtain a medical cannabis license. Virginia needs to renovate the registration process and require coverage of medical cannabis by insurance.
