Candidate in race for State House District 75

Position on Marijuana Legalization

Do you support the legalization of cannabis retail sales for personal use?

"Once a reliable intoxication test, such as a breathalyzer, I would be in favor of treating cannabis in much the same manner as alcohol for personal use" Hurley (2020)

Position on Marijuana Decriminalization

Do you support the decriminalization of cannabis?

"Yes. Deregulation of cannabis would allow further study for medical and other uses. This would also help alleviate overcrowding of prisons due to minor infractions" (Hurley 2020)

Position on Medical Marijuana

Do you support the implementation of a medical cannabis program in Indiana to make cannabis legally available to patients for medical purposes?

"Yes. Patients and doctors deserve to have all viable options for the treatment of illness or pain. A medical cannabis program would further the study of the potential uses of cannabis and work to standardize various strains" Hurley (2020)

Comments

"I admittedly support the deregulation of industrial hemp for agricultural purposes. According to NAIHC.org, there are over 25,000 uses for industrial hemp. In a heavily agricultural area such as Indiana’s 75th District, industrial hemp would allow farmers to diversify their crop production and hedge against fluctuations in the market" Hurley (2020)
