Holds office State Senate District 17
Lead sponsor og SB 3 to legalize medical marijuana in 2016
State Senator Daylin Leach (D-Montgomery/Delaware) today commented on Secretary Rachel Levine’s announcement that she will accept the Medical Marijuana Advisory Board’s approval of “whole plant” marijuana.
“I am ecstatic today,” Leach said. “The Advisory Board’s vote and Secretary Levine’s announcement are the culmination of years of hard work. Allowing whole plant will dramatically expand the number of patients who benefit from medical cannabis and will go a long way toward guaranteeing that this new industry survives and prospers. This is a great day for the people of Pennsylvania, and particularly for those who have been suffering and crying out for relief. Help is now indeed on the way.” Link
“It was very important for the advisory board to approve patients’ use of the plant material because it’s the most affordable kind of medical marijuana and the most effective in treating certain medical conditions and symptoms,” Leach said. “Thousands of Pennsylvanians, including veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and cancer patients enduring unending nausea, will get immediate relief from the vaporization of the whole plant.” Link
