A Mike Beilstein (PG - OR) LEGALIZE, TAX, AND REGULATE DECRIMINALIZE MEDICAL USE
1. Will you support legislation that would increase safe, affordable access to patients? YES - Need to see the legislation first. However, I support safe affordable access to all medicine. 2. Will you support legislation to license and regulate cannabis consumption lounges? YES - I think it is appropriate to be able to consume cannabis products in regulated public spaces, like the coffee shops in Amsterdam. 3. Will you support legislation to end discriminatory practices against cannabis consumers in the workplace and housing market? YES - I believe there should be no employment discrimination against people who use cannabis for medicine or recreation as long as they are not impaired on the job. 4. Will you support legislation to regulate cannabis producers and processors like breweries and wineries so they may give tours of their facility, provide samples and sell directly to consumers so long as they charge and collect taxes? (keep in mind the law requires all areas of the premises to be on camera) YES 5. Will you support Oregon NORML's efforts to push for federal decriminalization and descheduling of the cannabis plant? YES - Abuse of any drug is a health issue, not criminal. Criminalizing drug use is part of the strategy to create a police state criminal-industrial complex. Also criminalizing non-drug hemp production is a stupid unnecessary restriction of a possibly valuable agricultural economy.
