“Over half of American adults have tried marijuana in their lifetimes, and they don’t all deserve to have a criminal record which will follow them for the rest of their lives. I hope my colleagues will support this commonsense reform which will focus law enforcement resources on fighting more dangerous drugs and violent crimes.”

“As states move to legalize marijuana, especially for medical reasons, the economic opportunities that are present for an agricultural state like our own are immense. Farmers who are struggling to make ends meet would be able to grow a cash crop that is part of the fastest growing industry in our country,” said Dogan. “We would keep this decision on the local level and in the hands of the residents in each county. I think it’s important to provide Missourians with the ability to decide if we want to position our state to take advantage of this opportunity that will provide for long-term, sustained economic growth.”
