Senator James Lankford is very against marijuana legalization for medical or recreational purposes.

"Chinese criminal organizations are using Oklahoma farmland to grow marijuana. I’m leading the charge to stop to bad foreign actors buying American soil." (September 29, 2023).
"Chinese criminals are partnering with Mexican cartels to buy OK land to grow and illegally sell marijuana. This is dangerous and has to stop, and I have a plan to do just that." (September 28, 2023).
"The recommendation to remove marijuana from the DEA’s list of dangerous Schedule I drugs is not based on science—it’s based on an irresponsible pro-pot agenda." (September 12, 2023).
"Our state overwhelming rejected ‘legalizing’ recreational marijuana earlier this month because we have seen firsthand how foreign criminal organizations exploit vulnerabilities in our law to destroy our families and communities for their profit." (March 30, 2023).
“It was just a really bizarre attack to try to use Scripture to be able to support people smoking more marijuana,” Lankford said in an interview Monday. “I certainly don't think that the Bible encourages more parents to get high and all the side effects and things that happen with marijuana use.” (6/25/18)
"Marijuana is not used for anyone on chronic pain other than just getting high and to escape from the pain." (6/18/18)
"But Lankford said Democratic leaders in states that have legalized marijuana are beginning to rethink that policy and that he would have a hard time supporting such a move.
"I just don't think that's the best thing we can do for our kids," Lankford said." 10/7/14

"Sen. James Lankford proposed Thursday that Indian tribes cultivating or selling marijuana on their lands be stripped of federal funds. Marijuana cultivation and sale are illegal under federal law. However, the Obama administration has recently given tribes flexibility in how they want to approach enforcement of marijuana laws on their reservations. That flexibility may even extend to allowing American Indian tribes to legalize marijuana on their land and to tribal governments profiting from the sale. Lankford's bill would prohibit that...Tribes receive federal funds, including grants, from numerous federal departments and agencies for the array of services they provide." 8/11/15
