Bergman said he looked at the legalization of marijuana as a state issue, but did not say how he planned to vote regarding the issue.

“Where the federal government can play a role is to ensure research dollars … are appropriately used to assess the benefits, the potential negatives (of marijuana),” he said. (9/23/18)
