Candidate in race for U.S. House District 5 on Tuesday, November 5, 2024
Congress should:
remove marijuana from the Contolled Substances Act of 1970, so adults can consume marijuana responsibly without fear that their life, liberty, and property will be threatened by the Federal government;
direct the administration not to interfere with the implementation of state initiatives that allow for the recreational or medical use of marijuana;
curtail the abuses of our civil liberties (pretextual traffic stops, warrantless surveillance, warrantless no-knock raids by SWAT teams, civil asset forfeiture, and coercive plea bargains) associated with the failed war on drugs;
repeal the federal mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug users.
