Q: Do you think the federal government should change its position on marijuana as a criminal drug? Please explain reasons behind your answer.

JAMES: Michigan voters have spoken out on marijuana already and passed a citizen initiative to legalize medical marijuana. I support research and development of new treatment methods, particularly when the preliminary data shows it is helpful for veterans.

Q: Do you support the proposal to make recreational marijuana legal in Michigan? Why or why not?

JAMES: I will personally be voting no on that ballot question. Should it pass, I will respect the will of the voters.
