Suncoast NORML endorses this candidate in the 2024 race.
Holds office State House District 42
"I strongly support the decriminalization of simple marijuana possession. Criminal penalties for minor marijuana offenses disproportionately impact communities of color and overwhelm the justice system with non-violent cases. Decriminalization is a common-sense reform that will reduce unnecessary arrests and incarceration, allowing law enforcement to focus on more serious issues.
Decriminalizing simple possession is also a crucial step toward social justice, as it helps to address the long-standing disparities in drug law enforcement. I advocate for policies that remove criminal penalties for possession and expunge the records of those previously convicted for minor marijuana offenses." (NORML Candidate Survey 9/10/24)
"I fully support the legalization of marijuana for medical use. Medical cannabis has proven to be a valuable treatment for a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, epilepsy, PTSD, and cancer-related symptoms. Patients deserve access to the relief that medical marijuana can provide, and it should be prescribed based on medical need, not hindered by outdated laws or stigmas.
Legalizing medical marijuana empowers doctors and patients to make informed decisions about treatment options while ensuring safe, regulated access to cannabis. I will continue advocating for policies that expand medical marijuana access and protect patients' rights." (NORML Candidate Survey 9/10/24)
