“Today, the New York State Senate is finally taking steps to legalize the sale, growth, and adult-use of cannabis while ensuring the communities of color disproportionately affected by the War on Drugs receive the justice they have long deserved. The Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act (MRTA) will help generate millions in revenue for our state and create thousands of much-needed jobs—establishing a new industry as we look for more ways to recover economically from this pandemic.” 3/30/21
