Position on Marijuana Legalization

When asked to provide a statement regarding legalizing and regulating the responsible use of marijuana by adults, Felton replied, "I’m not sure it needs much regulation beyond not operating lethal equipment during active use, also not using while on the clock working with staff dependent humans. (Teachers/doctors….)" (Candidate Survey Response)

When asked to provide a position regarding automatic expungements of non-violent marijuana possession convictions, Felton responded, "Someone I love very much is serving time for this very thing." (Candidate Survey Response)

Position on Marijuana Decriminalization

"Victimless crimes are not crimes." (Candidate Survey Response)

"It’s a plant that has been demonized to the benefit of big pharma and detriment to society. Creating criminals out of those who can not afford or do not have access to spendy legal counsel. Adults should suffer no criminal or civil penalties for recreational or medicinal use. Nor should they lose their second amendment rights . That said, willingly operating lethal objects be they firearms or motor vehicles under the influence of any mind altering substance , should come with a penalty if the delay in time response during use, causes death or injury to a person or destruction of the property of another. IOW, if it’s not hurting anyone else, it is no one else’s business." (Candidate Survey Response)

Position on Medical Marijuana

"Fully decriminalize. Allow for medical and recreational [cannabis] use." (Candidate Survey Response)
