D+ Jonathon Hansen (D - WI) MEDICAL USE

In his campaign interview, Hansen states he is 100% support medical marijuana, but he states he is not in support of legalizing recreational marijuana right now, with his concerns being impaired driving and an increased minor use. He went onto to express concerns over an emerging big marijuana industry and advertising targeting minors like the tobacco industry. He went on to say we should “hold off” and called for more research and studies in the states that have legalized before we move forward here.

Biography

Jonathon was born and raised in NE Wisconsin, and graduated from Green Bay West High School in 2007. He earned a Bachelor's Degree in English and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2012. He went on to earn a Master’s Degree from Marquette University in 2016, and also served as an instructor on campus during his time in graduate school.

Jonathon has served on the De Pere City Council representing southeast De Pere since April 2017, and was re-elected to a second term in April 2019. He has experience as a mortgage lender specializing in loan programs for low/moderate income and first-time homebuyers. His prior political experience also includes serving as the campaign manager for Sen. Dave Hansen's reelection campaign in 2016, and working as a legislative aide in the Wisconsin State Capitol.
