Position on Marijuana Legalization

I support legalizing and regulating the responsible use of cannabis by adults. The state should also be providing small business loans and support for members of marginalized communities, particularly individuals who were formerly incarcerated for non-violent marijuana-related offenses so that they can have an opportunity to benefit from an industry that formerly targeted their communities in the failed "war on drugs."

I support the automatic expungement of records related to non-violent marijuana possession charges. Individuals who have been incarcerated for these offenses should not be precluded from finding gainful employment or access to housing opportunities. Expunging records related to non-violent marijuana-related convictions allows people a chance at escaping the recidivism loop and becoming a productive member of society.

Position on Medical Marijuana

I support the expansion of Virginia's medical cannabis program to improve patient access including: cost subsidies for recommendation, registration, and medication; an increase in the number of and accessibility to dispensaries operating in the Commonwealth; and a delivery program to ensure homebound or high-risk individuals have access to their medication. I also support programs for cannabis farmers and business owners to assist with requirements for licensing and vertical integration
