"Right now, we have a very uncertain situation with the legalized cannabis market. I agree it would be much better for all parties--citizens, law enforcement, and businesses to have a transparent, regulated market. I favor establishing clear & transparent laws for legal use of marijuana and clear guidelines for setting up a legal recreational cannabis market." (Candidate Survey Response)
"Non-violent marijuana possession charges absolutely should be expunged from the records of the formerly convicted. This is a matter of basic fairness and it is also an economic issue as having such a record can impact job applications and the ability to be economically independent." (Candidate Survey Response)
"While I believe that Virginia should regulate medical cannabis, I also agree that Virginians who are approved to use it as such need better access to medical cannabis. I think part of this requires more education about and more de-stigmatizing of medical cannabis use. Furthermore, Virginia's medical cannabis model needs to be updated so that suppliers and distributors can be separate if they wish." (Candidate Survey Response)
