A Philip Hamilton (R - VA) LEGALIZE, TAX, AND REGULATE DECRIMINALIZE MEDICAL USE
Position on Marijuana Legalization

"I support regulating responsible use of cannabis by adults and I support lowering the legal age to purchase and to use cannabis to age 18. I also support abolishing ABC stores, so that alcohol sales can be privatized, and I also believe that marijuana sales should be done by private businesses in Virginia, rather than by state run ABC stores." (Candidate Survey Response)

"I support automatic expungement of non-violent marijuana distribution charges, that will benifits Virginians of all races and ethnicities, as long as the marijuana that was distributed was not laced with fentanyl. If someone has distributed marijuana laced with fentanyl I believe that they should be charged with homicide, if the marijuana that they distribute kills one or more persons. So I will only support automatic expungement with exceptions." (Candidate Survey Response)

Position on Medical Marijuana

"I have met with Virginians who have used cannabis to help them recover from the effects of chemotherapy after obtaining a cancer diagnosis. I believe that the medicial cannabis program should be expanded so that Virginians can have access to non-pharmaceutical pain relief." (Candidate Survey Response)
