Candidate in race for State House District 61 (D) on Tuesday, June 14, 2022
I see no reason why in 2022 marijuana should remain illegal. It has been shown to have useful medicinal benefits and a strong argument can be made that it’s not as dangerous as alcohol or cigarettes. It’s time to end government overreach as it pertains to marijuana prohibition.
I support the legalization of marijuana. If we can regulate and tax it so that our schools and infrastructure benefit, I’m for that as well.
We have too many people locked up for non violent “crimes” like possession of marijuana. This is a waste of resources on all of us.
We need to decriminalize and expunge the records of those who have been incarcerated for simple possession of marijuana.
Medical marijuana has been shown to have numerous benefits for people suffering from a vast number of illnesses and diseases. If doctors want to prescribe it to their patients, that is not the business of the government.
