I believe that marijuana should be treated no differently than tobacco or alcohol. While I myself do not wish to use cannabis, it is not my place to infringe on another person's right to do so.

The war on drugs has only produced casualties. Decriminalization of marijuana will decrease the prison population (a sorely needed agenda in Alabama) and thereby reduce state expenses. It will keep nonviolent offenders from enduring a stigma regarding employment and will allow Alabamians to prosper.

It seems hypocritical to allow a person to endure a criminal record for something that is not criminal.

Alabamians has suffered too long when a viable solution has been kept out of their hand by politicians. I wholeheartedly support the use of cannabis as a form of medical treatment.
