Prohibition does nothing but create a black market. I think we should be collectively intelligent enough to understand the benefits of legalization. 

We have real problems in this country and not only is it morally reprehensible to lock someone up for a plant, it  also takes away resources that could be used to fight those real problems.

Our government owes a lot of people an apology.There are still people sitting in jail over something completely legal in nearby states. Alabama has a " prison crisis" and it is still proudly locking people up over something most people understand to be harmless to all concerned. Those currently in jail need to be released and those with past convictions should have them expunged immediately.  

While I support the medical cannabis legalization in Alabama I am concerned that it gives too much power to pharmaceutical companies. The Annual License Fee of $30,000 or more makes it very likely that control will be in the hands of those with very big pockets. That should not be the case.
