A Jeremy Rodden (D - VA) LEGALIZE, TAX, AND REGULATE DECRIMINALIZE MEDICAL USE

Candidate in race for State House District 90 on Tuesday, June 17, 2025

Position on Marijuana Legalization

"Legalization and regulation is an important step to ensure that marijuana can be used safely. Without proper regulation, we will continue to see rises in deaths and overdoses related to other drugs such as fentanyl, that are sometimes laced into unregulated marijuana. If politicians truly were worried about the fentanyl crisis in our Commonwealth, they would ensure responsibility marijuana use will be free from that risk." (Candidate Survey Response)

"The 'war on drugs' has been proven a failed strategy time and again. In fact, it has been used as a smokescreen to disproportionately disenfranchise generations of Black and Brown folks. With the legalization of marijuana use in Virginia, all records related to simple possession and use need to be automatically and retroactively expunged." (Candidate Survey Response)

Position on Medical Marijuana

"As a humanist, I believe we need to listen to science and not moral outrage inconsistent with what the science tells us. Access to medical cannabis needs to be just as easy to access as other proven effective forms of medication for patients." (Candidate Survey Response)
