Lateefah Simon is the Democratic party's anointed choice to replace retiring Rep. Barbara Lee, who has endorsed her.  Lee was a leading champion of marijuana and criminal justice reform and served as a co-chair of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus.   Ms. Simon's campaign has not mentioned her cannabis policy, but she has a nationally recognized record of advocacy for civil rights and social justice.   She was chosen by S.F. DA Kamala Harris to lead the Back on Track anti-recidivism program for young adults charged with low-level offenses.  She currently serves as president of the BART board of directors.
