Democrat Dr. Jennifer Tran is the underdog in this race to replace retiring Rep. Barbara Lee.  She is endorsed by LPAC, which champions LGBTQ  issues, and by the Asian American and Pacific Islands ASPIRE PAC.    Dr. Tran criticizes "defund the police" policies that have failed to control crime in Oakland.   She supports better policing, mental health support, and non-violent response programs.
