Congressman Charles Crist is an outspoken proponent championing for medical marijuana, state's rights, and home cultivation.
Suncoast NORML interview on podcast The Rotation episode 79:
Crist thinks, "We need to legalize recreationally, we need to expunge the records of those unfairly punished which is predominantly people of color Black and Brown people in our state. Legalizing recreational marijuana the impact it would have on the Sunshine State would be exceptional, number one regulate to make sure its not dangerous, number two tax the revenue its a multibillion dollar industry, the impact on our state budget we could use those hundreds of millions of dollars to help pay teachers.., law enforcement training and support... Florida needs to come into the 21st Century. Its 2022 not 1952." Suncoast NORML states, "the movement in general is most concerned with are we going to be able to grow at home..? Crist replies, "you ought to be able to grow at home. If you can brew your own beer you ought to be able to grow your own weed it just makes sense."
During the tenure of Governor Charlie Crist (2007 to 2011) he and the Florida Cabinet members restored the right to vote to over 100,000 people.

As a person of faith, to me, this is an issue of compassion. The Bible teaches us to recognize the suffering of others and act to help, similar to the "Golden Rule" that I try to live by every day.
I call on Attorney General Sessions to remember the Golden Rule, act compassionately, and reverse course on this harmful policy change. The well-being of countless families just like Dani's are at stake. [A segment of the statement Charlie Crist released in response to Cole memo recindance]
